A dynamic dance exploration of the evocative art of Julio Romero de Torres, the Cordoban Leonardo. The choreographer, Kelli Brown, translates his early 20th-century paintings—which famously celebrate the women, light, and culture of Andalusia—into movement.
Accompanied by live music, the performance embodies the essence that was said to define his work: "Romero de Torres paints not only what he sees but what beats beneath the skin of things."

VIDEO: Stage of Grief

Choreographer: Katie Ponozzo

Filmmaker: Chaz Gentry

The short dance film Stages of Grief (2019) is a powerful emotional journey rooted in the process of grieving. Choreographer Katie Ponozzo and cinematographer Chaz Gentry contrast the structured Boise Contemporary Theater (BCT) with the natural Boise Foothills to create a dynamic visual and emotional performance.

Originally performed as a 5 piece collection, with a full cast,  Katie Ponozzo  & Chaz Gentry on lights, created something magical-a work of choreography requested again and again. The beauty of the piece set in motion this collaborative dance film.
